Longest Day Of The Year (Summer Solstice)

Longest Day Of The Year (Summer Solstice).

Summer Solstice
June 21, also referred to as estival solstice or midsummer occurs when one among the Earth's poles has its maximum tilt toward the Sun. It happens twice yearly, once in each hemisphere (Northern and Southern). For that hemisphere, June 21 is when the Sun reaches its highest position within the sky and is that the day with the longest period of daylight. Within the Arctic Circle (for the northern hemisphere) or Antarctic Circle (for the southern hemisphere), there's continuous daylight round the June 21. On June 21, Earth's maximum axial tilt toward the Sun is 23.44°. Likewise, the Sun's declination from the equinoctial circle is 23.44°.
Summer Solstice
The June 21 occurs during summer.[3] this is often the June solstice within the hemisphere and therefore the December solstice within the hemisphere. counting on the shift of the calendar, the June 21 occurs sometime between June 20 and June 22 within the Northern Hemisphere[4][5] and between December 20 and December 23 within the hemisphere. Equivalent dates within the opposite hemisphere are mentioned because of the solstice.
Since prehistory, the June 21 has been seen as a big-time of year in many cultures and has been marked by festivals and rituals. Traditionally, in many temperate regions (especially Europe), June 21 is seen because the middle of summer and mentioned as "midsummer". Today, however, in some countries and calendars it's seen because of the beginning of summer.
